Eric Liljenquist brings 20 years of sales experience as a Realtor, Loan Officer, and Sales Manager to every client relationship. For more than 14 of those years, his work has focused on restructuring home loans for Veterans, including eight years with Low VA Rates in Henderson, Nevada—the company from which MortgageFriend’s mission ultimately grew.
As a Licensed Loan Originator, Eric helps borrowers understand their VA loan benefits as well as other mortgage options that may fit their needs. His approach is centered on listening first, understanding the borrower’s goals and financial situation, and then identifying a loan structure that makes sense for the individual rather than forcing every client into the same solution.
Eric earned his Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science and Health from the University of Utah before building a 20-year career in sales. More than 14 of those years have been spent as a Loan Officer and Loan Originator restructuring home loans for Veterans, first with Flagship Financial Group and later with Low VA Rates in Henderson, Nevada. He now brings that same experience and focus to MortgageFriend.
Eric takes particular pride in helping Veterans and military families understand and use the mortgage benefits they have earned. His approach is straightforward: explain the options clearly, avoid unnecessary jargon, and make sure borrowers understand the structure, costs, and implications of a loan before moving forward. Whether the transaction involves a first-time VA purchase, an IRRRL refinance, or a more complicated mortgage scenario, Eric’s goal is to help clients feel informed, confident, and supported from the first conversation through closing.
With more than 14 years of experience restructuring home loans for Veterans and military families, Eric has been licensed to originate mortgage loans in 40 states and was recognized as a President’s Club producer at both Flagship Financial Group and Low VA Rates. He also brings a Realtor’s perspective to the mortgage process, having worked as a real estate agent with Chapman Richards Referral since 2004. That experience gives him added insight into both the financing and real estate sides of a home purchase.
A strong mortgage process depends on more than loan programs. It depends on the people managing the details behind the scenes.
MortgageFriend is supported by an experienced, highly qualified team that understands how to keep a loan moving from the first conversation to the closing table. Our staff is one of our greatest resources because they know where files can slow down, what underwriting may need, and how important clear communication is when borrowers are making major financial decisions.
We also invest in technology that helps track, manage, and organize each transaction from start to finish. By automating key tasks and monitoring important milestones, our Loan Officers can stay focused on the details that matter most: identifying potential hurdles, helping structure the loan properly, and guiding borrowers through the closing process.
The result is a more organized mortgage experience, clearer communication, and a team built to help clients move forward with confidence.
